Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards


The Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa, located in Jackson, New Hampshire in the White Mountains has been selected as the number two resort in the Mainland United States . The award is the second time the Inn has been choosen in the top three resorts in the Mainland USA. The four diamond Inn is a four season destination and is popular with skiiers in the winter and hikers and mountain bikers in the summer.

ROMBAUER VINEYARDS WINE DINNER
The Inn is hosting Rombauer Vineyards on October 23, 2008 at 7:00pm for five course wine dinner.
Rombauer was founded in 1982 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer and sits on a tree covered knoll overlooking Napa Valley. The Rombauer family is orginally from Reingau region of Germany and his great aunt, Irma Rombauer, wrote the book The Joy of Cooking. Their wines are consistently ranked high in the wine trade journals.

The Inn Selected as Best Lounge Food in New Hampshire

The Inn at Thorn Hill's Lounge menu has been selected as the best bar food in New Hampshire.

The menu is a selection of small plates and large plates served in the lounge or the adjoining porch which overlooks Mount Washington.
The menu created by Chef John Russ's staff is a blend of many tastes. Small plates might be Crab Spring Roll, Grilled Fresh Articoke or Cornmeal Fried Oysters. Large plates include a Venison Patty Melt, Duck Confit Salad, Hand Cut Tagliatelle or Pale Ale Steamed Mussels.
The Lounge is open nightly from 5pm to 10pm and there is Michael Jewell on the piano on Saturday evenings. Reservations are available for parties of six or larger.

AAA FOUR DIAMOND AWARDS

The Inn at Thorn Hill recieved its latest AAA Four Diamonds awards at he annual AAA awards luncheon on May 12th, 2008. The Inn was awarded its ninth consecutive for lodging and eighth consecutive for dining. The awards were only interuppted by a fire which led to the rebuilding of the Main Inn in 2003.
The double awards are one of only four properties in New Hampshire to receive both which also included Distinctive Inn of New England member The Manor on Golden Pond.
The award luncheon was a fabulous affair at the Manor on Golden Pond with a great four course meal.

Join our yoga instructor, Carlene Sullivan of Symmetree Yoga, for a weekend adventure in the White Mountains as you reside, replenish and rejuvenate in the heart of Jackson, New Hampshire at the Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa.
Upon arrival you will be greeted by dinner and a brief orientation where you will meet your yoga teacher, Carlene and mountain guides. Start the day off with breakfast, a guided hike through the pristine forests of the Mount Washington Valley and a restorative mountain top yoga class. The yoga excursion includes transportation to and from the trail head, a guided hike, safety techniques and skills to deepen your hiking techniques, lunch and a mountain top yoga class focusing on beginner yoga postures paired with breath & meditation. We will wind the day off with a little more yoga and dinner. An additional morning yoga class and breakfast will be offered the morning of your departure; leaving you feeling restored, invigorated and ready for a fresh start.

Award of Ultimate Distinction
The Inn at Thorn Hill has been awarded the "Award of Ultimate Distinction" as having one of the great wine list in the nation. There were only 31 restaurant that received this award and is one of three so honored in New England. The Inn also has a year round wine program including bi-monthly wine classes, twice a year wine weekends, 27 wine by the glass and a wine club. The list features depth in California Cabernet and Chardonnay wines, Bordeaux and and a great selections of Pinot Noirs and Syrahs. So joins us for a glass and relax on our wraparound porch once the snow dissapates.

Thorn Hill's Spring Ski in Jackson

The Inn is offering a late Spring Cross Country Ski and Stay Package from March 21st to March 31st. The Inn's superior rooms will be $199 per night, luxury rooms at $279 and suites at $299. These rates include a nightly three course dinner, full breakfast, afternoon tea and two ski passes to the East Coast's largest cross country ski network; Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. The inn has just been rated by Conde Naste Traveller as the third best resort in Continental North America and its spa director as one of the top therapist in the Nation.
Skiing is great now with our record snow this year and the spa has many great treatments available.
